Tobin teaches a course on women's stories in the Women's Studies Department at the University of Denver. She holds degrees in education, women's studies, and counseling.

Cheng learned Nu Shu by doing extensive fieldwork in Hunan Province. She has served as the Editor-in-Chief of Awakening Press and Awakening Magazine, and is a board member of the Awakening Foundation. She is Editor-in-Chief of Eslite book Review in Taiwa

Xaiochuan created the traditional Chinese calligraphy for The Tao of Women. He is a native of Wuhan city, in Hubei province China.

A wonderful work for women seeking a way to nourish their self confidence. Beautiful short length verses on every other page and nicely illustrated (black and white). Opposite page of verses has a blank space for you to write your own thoughts down. The Nu-Shu characters are large and easy on the eyes. Only disappointment is the whole Nu-Shu alphabet is NOT offered anywhere in the book.

Cute but Not Worth the Price

This book takes certain quotes from the Dao, puts some Nu Shu pictures in with it, and then tries to make the Dao quotes specific to women.

The Dao is already a feminine/yin path. It even says in the text by Lao-Tzu, "yielding is the motion of the Dao" and "Know the yang, but hold to the yin."

Hold to the yin! Don't try to make the yin more yin than it already is.

It has pretty pictures and this book does have potential...it's just not work 9 dollars.

A Fascinating Read

I have this as a textbook for my Medical Anthropology class this semester, and am impressed with how well-written, thought-provoking, and easy to get through it is. It actually makes me want to do the readings for class assignments rather than just briefly skim the text before class like other dry textbooks have made me do in the past. This reading would still be interesting outside of a class setting. (And the paper the book is printed on smells really nice, but that just may be me being weird...)

About the Author
Prof. Clemens A. van Blitterswijk is Professor of Tissue Regeneration at Maastricht University, heading up one of the leading European labs in the field of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. He combines his professorship with being Founding Partner of the new LSP-Health Economics Fund of the European health care investment group Life Sciences Partners in Amsterdam. During his career Prof. van Blitterswijk has authored and co-authored ca. 400 scientific papers. He has co-founded multiple biomedical companies and is one of the highest ranking Dutch scientists under the most frequently cited in Materials Science. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the George Winter Award. of the European Society for Biomaterials, the Career Achievement Award of Termis and is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Jan de Boer is a professor of Applied Cell Biology at the Laboratory of Cell Biology-Inspired Tissue Engineering, University of Maastricht, The Netherlands, where his team performs innovative research on molecular and cellular engineering of bone tissue. The research program is characterized by a holistic approach to both discovery and application, aiming at combining high throughput technologies, computational modeling and experimental cell biology to streamline the wealth of biological knowledge to real clinical applications. Impossible to put down!

If you are looking for a book that is filled with fun and excitement that is hard to put down, this one's for you! The story line is great and I can't wait to find out what happens with some of the other couples in the next books.

Quirky Characters Abound!

This book was so great! I will be honest here, the only reason this is a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the editing issues. There were quite a few and usually that's a stopper for me and I will say that I'm truly surprised at myself for making it through with the number of issues. That right there should tell you something because not only did it not stop me but I still absolutely LOVED this story. It was crazy and quirky, hilarious and heart-stopping, just everything that I want in a good read and then some. Jamie and Siri have to be two of my favorite characters of late. They had it all, every single thing I look for in a couple is there in these two. The book was fast paced and I thought at first that the pace was going to be bother me because things for these two move faster than lightening but it all just fit. The story is fun and lively and so full of heart that by the end you are in love with all of them. Siri is such a strong female character but her strength and the trials that she has to go through don't take away from her incredible sense of humor and personality, they only enhance it. The language might bother some (not the cussing but the hicking) but I almost felt like I was talking to some of my relatives since I'm a hick from Texas and it doesn't matter where you are from, a hick is a hick! I am looking forward to more writings by Ms. Sidda Lee Rain, I can't wait to meet more of the quirky characters that must be floating around in her brain! But hopefully with a little more editing.
