Fantastic artbook for Disgaea fans

It's a 192-page paperback filled with illustrations from all four Disgaea games, namely Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice and Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten.

There are illustrations from all sorts of merchandise like game covers, books, soundtrack, other promotional materials and in-game illustrations as well. It's not a concept art book.

The art is beautiful, printed in mixture of sizes from quarter page to full page. It's shonen manga style with very pastel colours throughout. The bulk of art comes from Takehito Harada. However, there are many illustrations drawn by other artists who were not credited. The index page have info on where the art came from. The artist commentary appear for only three illustrations.

This book is translated by Udon from the original Japanese edition (isbn 4048706373) that was published in 2012. That book had mixed reviews, citing the lack of artist credits and duplication of work from other books such as Takehito Harada Art works (isbn 475806265X) and Disgaea 3 Official Design Works (isbn 4797351519). If you don't have those books, then it's not a concern.

If you like the Disgaea series and the style of art, this is a great buy.

Just Buy It ! ! !

Some people collect stamps, coins, baseball cards or comic books. I don't do that. Instead, I collect all the best art books. If you collect art books like I do I would say definitely buy this one. The artwork is just amazing!!! If I could give this more than 5 stars, I definitely would. This really is a "must have book"

I would recommend this to anyone reading this review. I also own almost all the other Udon Entertainment art books and I would like to take the time to recommend them all. In my opinion Udon is just the best of the best. I don't work for them. I don't get paid by them. I'm just a fan of their art books.

The artwork in the book covers all the Disgaea games from the first to the most current one, Disgaea 4, though for some reason the sections are reversed (It goes 4 to 1 instead of 1 to 4) which is too bad, because it would have been nice to see the art on chronological order.

It's very enjoyable to look through, especially as a big fan of Disgaea. There where quite a few images I've never seen before. There is barely any commentary or captions to speak off. It's just the art for you to enjoy without any distractions.

The paper is nice and heavy, and all the illustrations are crisp and vibrant. The whole book feels like a high quality item. I have one gripe, however. I've experienced some ink rubbing off onto the opposite page. It's light, but definitely noticeable. This is especially noticeable when one page is light and the other dark. I've only had the book for a few days, so I hope it won't get any worse. This is the only reason for me not giving this artbook a 5 out of 5.

Rimfire Specific Overview

This book is a wonderful overview of all types of rimfire rifles and pistols. My attraction to rimfires is that it can be a wonderfully less expensive way to practice marksmanship. The level of seriousness can vary from tin can plinking to small competition.

The scope hold true with this book within the context of rimfire. Each type of action is discussed in every price range and level of precision. Ammunition choice is discussed for various aspects.

This would be a wonderfully broad overview for someone considering a purchase of a rimfire rifle or pistol. It provide a detailed outlook into the various types of offerings enabling the reader to make their personal choice fit the intended use or application.

Nice Try

I am an avid .22 rimfire fan. I've bought books on the .22 rimfire years ago and have been waiting for something more current. Good book covering some of the .22's out there and ammo testing along with info on the new .17HMR and .17M2 calibers. The author repeated himself over and over across several chapters the same information. A lot of the photos were reprinted across several chapters. This book could have been about half the size if the author had not repeated information throughout the book. Most of the guns covered in the book were from the author's own collection and did not really cover the various manufacturers offerings. Several good chapters on sighting in and ammo ballistics but overall I was disappointed in this book. If you are looking for a "little new" information on the .22 rimfire there is some here. If you are looking for more in depth information you will have to wait until someone else comes along and writes a better book.

Hits The Mark!

For background, I am a rifleman of sorts as well as a ballistician.I also have a Ph. D. James E. House has a Ph. D in Chemistry and his extensive technical background is evident all through this work. This book is encyclopedic in scope and I have found no significant errors in it. I would observe that he does not discuss nor explicate ballistics tables from which ballistic coefficients are derived. I would have preferred that at least some of his more accurate rifles were tested using ten round groups at 50 yards but his use of five round groups is reasonable (multiply five round group size by 1.414 to estimate ten round group size.) I also wish he had devoted (more) attention to rimfire bench rest competition. This may be a bit more detail than the beginner will wish but for anyone with a serious interest in rimfire cartridges and shooting, this book is a must-have. Doc D.

Cuando inicié la escritura de La izquierda reaccionaria, yo me consideraba un hombre de izquierda. ¿Qué significa esto? ¿De qué manera se es de izquierda si uno es honesto? Del mismo modo en que se es católico o budista: asumiendo por entero una larga tradición, que para el caso incluye los crímenes, las disidencias, las desviaciones, las recreaciones y hasta el modo de concebir la historia.

Dicho de otro modo: la lucha de clases como motor de la historia, los veinte millones de muertos de José Stalin, la aprobación de los créditos de guerra por la socialdemocracia alemana para iniciar la Primera Guerra Mundial, el genocidio de Pol Pot, la destrucción de Cuba --que en 1959 no era el burdel que suele pintarse, sino uno de los países más avanzados y cultos de América, con una de las tasas de alfabetización más altas del mundo--, la represión del levantamiento de Kronstadt en 1921 por Leon Trotski, el tradicional antisemitismo de la izquierda «pobrista» o atrasista; y, para colmo, la pretensión de poseer una explicación «científica» para todo ello.

Todo eso era y es el ser de izquierda, o todo eso hay que asumir, por pura dignidad, si se aspira a autodefinirse así.

Verá el lector que en alguna parte de la obra reivindico para mí esa condición, la de hombre de izquierda, a pesar de todo. Pero en realidad, el proceso mismo de la escritura, la exposición sistemática de las taras de la izquierda, me estaba apartando de ese espacio.

Los lectores lo entendieron mejor que yo, tanto los que me siguieron como los que me condenaron. Había empezado a escribir en la izquierda y había terminado en otro sitio, que no era la derecha, ni el liberalismo tal como se había ejercido hasta la fecha.

Como en toda catarsis, salí transformado en algo desconocido, algo que yo mismo no podía nombrar, porque lo mismo que había hecho con la izquierda, su disección --sin entender al principio que mi objeto de estudio era un cadáver--, podía hacerlo con la derecha, con la Iglesia católica o con cualquier otra concepción abarcadora a la que me enfrentara, y en cualquier caso iba a tener que asumir un pasado, una tradición, una serie de horrores.

A truly life-enhancing book

I hate to dispute the opinion of another, but I wonder if our friend below has actually read any of this book other than the blurb? Judging by his comments, I have to say I very much doubt it. 'Soul Psychology' is an extraordinary book that takes a look at psychology within the context of the mind and soul as opposed to just the mind and personality. The result is an inspiring, life-enhancing book, packed with various tools and techniques that are easy to use and extremely effective in dealing with negative emotions and mindsets and reprogramming the subconscious mind (I can vouch for their effectiveness!). Words cannot describe how empowering and invaluable this book has been. Simply put, it's a classic, visionary and pioneering work - I highly recommend it!

Excellent book for spiritual growth

Soul psychology by Dr Joshua is one the best books I can recommend to anyone who is interested in developing their consciousness.Consciousness is everthing in life.Your thoughts create reality.You and your thoughts are different.If you keep your self open you will know yourself.This books gives all the practical application as to how to develop your three fold flame of personal power , self love and self worth.The book helps to develop excellent self image.It also helps you to reprogram your subconscious mind.It will be balance your right and left brain,masculine and feminie energies.The book has excellent tools to remove negative implants and clear our energy fields.I highly recommend this book , it will be a great asset whatever level you are in your spiritual path.

Negative ego NOT ego, read the book!

Having fully read and explored this book, the reader understands that the author is speaking of the 'negative ego' which needs to be cleared so that perceptual filters are no longer distorting one's perception of reality. The author does not negate the fact that the part of ego necessary for daily activity is important. This is the same part of ego that Sai Baba comments on by saying: 'God equals man minus ego'. Please read this book before you make a review on it!
