Each of the systems is, therefore, consistently evangelical, and each has been held by many able and sincere men. The differences arise, not because of any conscious or intended disloyalty to Scripture, but primarily because of the distinctive method employed by each system in its interpretation of Scripture, and they relate primarily to the time and purpose of Christ's coming and to the kind of kingdom that is to be set up at His coming.

Great Overview

This book really helped me to understand Postmillenialism. It was easy-to-read, concise, and very informative. It has statistics that are seriously out-of-date, but that actually made the reading quite interesting.

A Good Insightful Book to Postmillennialism

Postmillennialism is making a comeback. The hope that is found in the gospel is now focusing people to realize that the gospel can bring radical transformation to our world. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is absolutely true! Furthermore, Psalm 110:1 is true. The hope of the postmillennialist, in contrast to the pessimism of premillennialists, is that the gospel will go forth and it will bear fruit and the world will indeed hear the good news of the Lordship of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). The gospel will cover the earth for the glory of God!
This is the point of Dr. Boettner's book on postmillennialism. While the book is now dated a bit, it is still useful to grasp just what it is that postmillennialists believe. Contrary to popular opinions, postmillennialists do not believe that man will bring about the millennial reign of Christ or the end of the world. Postmillennialists find their hope in the Holy Spirit who has come to convict the world about the gospel (John 16:8-11). Postmillennialists find their hope that God truly will save sinners and His gospel will go forth.
